It’s one big love-fest! Every dollar spent traveling to see you play, or buying the tickets, or getting the Botox pre-show (Oops…my secret is out)…it’s all about the love we give & get! I stopped drinking about 16 years ago. That’s about the time music actually started to become a possible future for me. Every since then though, I have not had an epic New Years Eve.
I’m thinking that it’s just a strange time for me in general but this year was just as weird as the past 15. Not…
This was the first year I actually stayed awake so I could slam the door on 2011. NOT a good year for me! However, I do have one piece of advice for you…stop worrying about what people think of you. You are an amazingly talented and funny man with a greatly weird sense of humor. That being said, you will always have people who don’t like you, or don’t like your music, or your sense of humor…whatever. Even Jesus wasn’t loved by everyone. Or Ghandi. Or Mother Theresa…you get the point. So if you need to vent, do it. If you need to give someone a dose of “act right”, give it. Be true to yourself and try to let the other BS go. You are allowed to feel unsure of yourself, your talent, your abilities, your family. Feel it and then let it go. Remember you are loved and appreciated for who you are, flaws and all. Now…go make some music DAMMIT! I need a tour to look forward to!

Hmmm…Autumn is 3….getting close to the age where she can throw you under the bus. BE CAREFUL! (I know from experience). A rounder Pat? YAY! You just made the Italian Mama in me very happy! And I can’t wait for the PLP. How do I know I’ll be there? Because it wouldn’t be a party unless I was there! It would have to be renamed the Private Listening HoHum Hoedown (look, you’re the lyracist…you figure it out!)

Oh Pat….you almost made me cry (again)! I’m glad you see all of us (well, ok, MOST of us) as normal. I know sometimes it can seem that the love we throw at you is a bit obsessive. But truly it is just the purest form of love that we all feel for a band that has travelled with us through life’s journeys. So many of your songs take me right back to a time or a feeling or a new friend. My circle of angels has grown exponentially with every CD, every song, every show. So although this trek is starting it’s cool down, there will be more memories ahead to share. Remember, without endings, there can be no beginnings.
